Bosch Radio, See What Makes Them Different
Working on a job site and need some tunes? Then get yourself a Bosch radio system and crank it up! With 360 degrees of exceptional sound, 4 speakers, and integrated subwoofer, you can’t go wrong for reliable sound and durability in tough jobsite conditions.
Bosch radios come in several different models, but have the overall advantage of being weather resistant, the ability to play CD’s, MP3’s and SD/MMC/USB cards.
They are built inside of an aluminum and rubber roll cage which protects the system and can be run on rechargeable batteries (included with purchase) with built in charger, or 120V power source (6 foot power cords included).
Bosch radios are installed with AM/FM reception and the entire radio is sealed to protect it from job site dust or inclement weather. They also feature large illuminating digital displays making them easy to view.
Bosch proclaims their radios can be used anywhere, played anywhere, charged anywhere, and play anything. Some of the newer models are also equipped to play satellite radio (sold separately).
The following is a list of qualities of Bosch radios submitted by customers in various reviews online.
Pros:
• Bosch makes rugged radios; they are made to be tossed into the back of a pickup or camper and taken to the job site or out camping.
• They rock out! With sub woofers and 4 speakers the sound quality is
exceptional.
• Reviewers exclaim that Bosch radios come with 4 AC outlets so that you can charge your cellphone, or laptop, as well as a 12V outlet for cellphone car chargers. Very handy!
• Bosch radios are heavy, which is actually a good thing. No one is going to be walking away easily with these radios.
• Bosch radios have AUX ports for iPod or MP3 players or various
smartphones with customized radio stations.
Cons:
• Some Bosch radio models do not come equipped with CD players.
• Several reviews have said the “high quality AM/FM reception” is not up to the standard that Bosch proclaims.
• At times music from certain models of Bosch radios cannot be heard over the sound of various power tools.
• Bosch radios have expensive price tags; reviewers suggest purchasing
Bosch radios at stores like Lowes or Home Depot where, if you need to
return it, policies are more liberal and you don’t have to ship the item back
like you would with Amazon, as Bosch radios are weighty.
• Display can be difficult to read if not read from a horizontal vantage point.
• iPod bays won’t charge your phone, and music cannot be controlled from the
front panel of the Bosch radio once music on the iPod is playing.
So as you can see, Bosch radios have some stellar buying points, and some not so stellar buying points. But Bosch stands behind their products and if something breaks a replacement will be sent with no haggle.
Overall Bosch radio systems receive 4 out of 5 stars on reviews ranging between Amazon, Lowes, and Home Depot.
